After arriving on the scene the police searched the entire apartment and found the body parts of Mahalakshmi stored in her refrigerator. To their horror the body parts were stuffed next to the vegetables inside the fridge. Details of the Discovered Body To everyone’s horror the body parts were brutally cut into more than 30 pieces. Inside the fridge on top shelf a foot, a hand, with some part appearing like stomach and other parts stuffed could be seen by the police. Then on the middle shelf, some parts of her body were packed in black polythene bags tied and were placed next to some joint bone. The victim was so gruesomely murdered that even the police were unable to identify her body parts. Lastly on the bottom shelf, Mahalakshmi’s head was placed facing the door. From the images one could see vegetables also kept inside the fridge along some clothes nearby to stop leakage from the refrigerator. This horrific scene left the police and residents with utter shock. The cruel culprit and main suspect identified by the police, named Ashraf originally maybe.. a resident of Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand is working on cultivating a new variety of hemp specifically for industrial purposes. The Centre for Aromatic Plants (CAP) in Selakui is conducting research, gathering over 1,000 seed samples from across the state. These seeds, with less than 0.3% THC, will be used to develop a low-THC hemp variety. Hemp fibers from these plants will be used in industries like textiles, furniture, and automotive. Additionally, seeds will be used in various products such as snacks, sauces, and cosmetics. New Hemp Variety:Industrial Hemp’s Global Presence Over 40 countries, including the U.S., Canada, and China, cultivate hemp commercially. Uttarakhand’s favorable climate makes it ideal for industrial hemp farming, but large-scale production has yet to begin. The state government had previously issued licenses for hemp cultivation under strict regulations to prevent misuse. Currently, 36 individuals across six districts—Dehradun, Pauri, Bageshwar, Champawat, Chamoli, and Almora—hold licenses for hemp farming. Applications of Industrial Hemp Hemp fibers are widely used in the automobile, furniture, and textile industries. Additionally, hemp seeds serve as a key ingredient in food products like snacks, soups, sauces, bakery items, and beverages. The research at CAP will determine the new hemp variety’s THC levels and assess its suitability for industrial purposes, offering a boost to Uttarakhand’s agricultural and industrial sectors. This initiative could propel the state as a leader in industrial hemp production, contributing to a range of eco-friendly products and boosting local economies.
