Over 5 Million People Estimated to Have Taken Holy Bath in Confluence on Basant Panchami at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple: Prayagraj Mela Authority officials have made extensive preparations for the bathing festival on Basant Panchami, with over 50 lakh devotees expected to participate. The mela area has been inspected, 12 bathing ghats have been constructed, and additional arrangements for crowd management and security have been made. The festival, celebrated as the birth anniversary of Goddess Saraswati, is believed to bring success and overcome career obstacles.

The Prayagraj Mela Authority officials are all set for the much-awaited bathing festival on Basant Panchami. This festival is held one day before the fourth main bathing day of the Magh Mela. It is estimated that more than 50 lakh devotees will gather at the Sangam to take a holy dip.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the festival, the mela area has been thoroughly inspected and 12 bathing ghats have been constructed. The entry to the mela area will be through Kali Marg, while the Sangam Approach Road will be used for bathing and the Triveni Marg for the return journey.

In addition to this, the officials have made additional arrangements for crowd management and security. They have deployed a considerable number of police personnel, volunteers, and other personnel to ensure the safety of the devotees. The ghats have also been lined with brass and bronze railings to provide safety and comfort to the devotees.

To facilitate the devotees, changing rooms have been set up at each ghat, and deep water barricading will be done. The preparations for the next bathing day, Maghi Purnima, on February 24, have also been completed. A whopping 3,000 running feet of bathing ghats have been constructed to facilitate the devotees.

The Magh Mela Prabhari Adhikari has confirmed that all preparations have been completed and the authorities are ready to welcome the devotees with open arms.

Apart from the Prayagraj Mela, Basant Panchami was celebrated on February 14, 2024, with great fervor. A large number of devotees gathered at the Sangam Ghat in Prayagraj for a holy bath on this auspicious day. In Ujjain, a special aarti was performed at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple to mark the occasion.

Basant Panchami is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Goddess Saraswati. Devotees worship her on this day to seek knowledge and wisdom. The festival is also known as Saraswati Puja and is believed to bring success and help overcome career obstacles.
