Tragic Boat Accident Claims Lives of Two Young Students in Vadakara While Fishing

Vadakara: In a tragic incident in Cherandathur, Vadakara, two students lost their lives in a boat accident. The students, Adi Dev and Adi Krishnan, were fishing in the Mahe Canal when the accident occurred. Fortunately, their friend Abhimanyu was able to swim to shore and inform the locals about the incident.

However, due to a delay in receiving the news, the rescue operation was delayed. Local residents rushed to the scene and made valiant efforts to retrieve the bodies of Adi Dev and Adi Krishnan from the water. The bodies were immediately taken to hospitals in Vadakara and Tiruvallur, but despite the best efforts of medical professionals, they could not be saved.

In the aftermath of this tragedy, the bodies of the two students were transferred to the Vadakara District Hospital Mortuary. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted, and once completed, the bodies will be handed over to their grieving relatives.

The boat capsized on October 28, leaving the friends devastated by the loss of their companions. Abhimanyu, the sole survivor, managed to escape the boat and cling onto mangrove plants in the water to stay afloat. Local residents heard his cries for help and immediately sprang into action to rescue all the students. Sadly, they were only able to save Abhimanyu’s life.
