AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan faces ED questioning over Delhi Waqf Board scandal as Supreme Court denies bail – Allegations of money laundering and illegal recruitment spark political turmoil with AAP leaders rallying support and alleging BJP conspiracy.

Supreme Court Denies Anticipatory Bail to AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in Delhi Waqf Board Case

In a recent turn of events, the Supreme Court has denied anticipatory bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan in the Delhi Waqf Board case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Khan on charges of alleged money laundering and illegal recruitment.

Khan’s fellow AAP leaders, including Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, and Sanjay Singh, have come out in support of him, claiming that the BJP is involved in an attempt to target him. Despite the allegations, Khan has vehemently denied any wrongdoing and has expressed his determination to continue working for Okhla, the constituency he represents.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court has cautioned the ED against making unnecessary arrests and has demanded concrete evidence before taking action. Khan has accused central agencies of targeting him to testify against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, further adding fuel to the political fire raging between the AAP and the BJP.

AAP leaders have voiced their concerns about a potential political conspiracy by the BJP to weaken their party and destabilize the Delhi government. Atishi has gone on record stating that the case against Khan is fabricated and lacks substantial evidence.

In a show of solidarity, AAP leaders have pledged their support to Khan and assured him of legal assistance throughout this legal battle. Khan recently appeared before the ED for questioning in connection to the money laundering case related to the Waqf Board. Amid swirling rumors of his imminent arrest, Khan clarified that he was summoned for questioning and not formally arrested, dismissing the case against him as baseless.

Despite his claims of innocence, the Supreme Court has rejected Khan’s anticipatory bail plea and directed him to cooperate with the ED in their investigation. The ED has alleged that Khan acquired illegal proceeds through irregular recruitment in the Waqf Board and subsequently invested in assets.

The AAP has been vocal in its assertion that false cases are being concocted against its leaders, with Khan being the latest target in what they perceive as a concerted effort to discredit and disrupt the party. The case continues to unfold, with political tensions running high between the AAP and the BJP in the national capital.
