Aim to Stop Begging
The Administration of Indore city has planned to eliminate begging under the SMILE initiative starting from January 1, 2025. This initiative is being taken to help people stuck in the cycle of begging by offering things like- medical care, education and skill-building.
Heavy Fines Will Be Imposed Soon
To stop people from begging, heavy fines will be imposed on people for giving money to beggars. To execute this plan, the District Collector of Indore has requested residents to stop giving alms to people as it supports the organized begging groups. From January 1 helping beggars with money could lead you into some serious trouble.
