Delhi Metro’s Republic Day Schedule: Trains to Start at 4 am, Enhanced Security Measures in Place
Delhi Metro is all set to kick off Republic Day celebrations by starting its operations at 4 am on January 26th. This early start is to ensure that people can easily reach their destinations to enjoy the grand parade and other festivities.
During the early hours, trains will run every 30 minutes until 6 am, after which the regular schedule will resume. However, it’s important to note that only those with tickets or parade invitations will be allowed to enter or exit the Metro stations near Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan.
To ensure the safety and security of commuters, enhanced security checks will be conducted both inside and outside the Metro stations. This might lead to longer queues, so passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly and allow extra time for their commute.
Passengers with specific e-invitation cards or e-tickets should make sure they disembark at the designated stations. Regular announcements will be made on the trains to inform passengers about these instructions.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued an advisory asking people to arrive early due to the enhanced security measures. These security checks will be in effect from January 19th to January 27th, so it’s important to cooperate with the security personnel during the process.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will be responsible for conducting the security checks at all Metro stations during this period. DMRC will soon release a plan regarding blocked entry and exit points on rehearsal and parade days.
Despite these security measures, train operations and announcements will continue as usual within the Metro system. It’s worth mentioning that DMRC emphasizes the importance of passenger cooperation and understanding during this time.
Rest assured, measures have been taken to ensure the safety and security of passengers during the Republic Day celebrations. So, grab your tickets or parade invitations and get ready to enjoy the festivities while keeping in mind the enhanced security procedures in place.
