No Fly Zone Declared On Amarnath Yatra Route: In a crucial development aimed at strengthening security for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, authorities have announced the imposition of “No-Fly Zones” along the two traditional pilgrimage routes — Pahalgam and Baltal. The restriction will come into effect from July 1, ahead of the start of the annual yatra.
Step Taken to Ensure Safety
The decision made on Tuesday, June 17, is part of a broader security strategy to ensure the safety of the thousands of devotees who undertake the challenging pilgrimage each year to the holy Amarnath Cave in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to officials, the “No-Fly Zone” is intended to prevent any unauthorized aerial activity over the yatra routes. This includes the use of drones or any form of low-flying aircraft that could pose potential security threats or interfere with operations along the narrow and sensitive mountain trails.
Pilgrims Urged To Follow New Guidelines
The security apparatus for the yatra includes a multilayered deployment of central and state forces, aerial surveillance, and now controlled airspace to minimize vulnerabilities.
Officials emphasized that these steps are proactive measures to provide a safe and secure environment for the yatris and urged the public and private stakeholders to strictly adhere to the new guidelines. The Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to begin on July 1 and will conclude on August 10 this year.
