Rishikesh News:The administration has ordered the closure of a madrasa in Rishikesh that was found operating without recognition from the education department. A notice has also been issued to the madrasa operators for violating the Right to Education Act.
Complaint by VHP and Bajrang Dal
The issue surfaced after locals, along with members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, raised concerns about the madrasa’s operations. They alleged that the madrasa had been conducting prayers and functioning without official authorization for the past 12 years.
Notice Issued to Operators
The madrasa, located in Raiwala, was investigated following complaints. Deputy Tehsildar Rajendra Singh Rawat confirmed that running an unrecognized madrasa breaches education laws. Notices have been issued to the operators, Abdul Aziz and Abdul Majid, instructing them to cease activities until further orders.
Community Concerns and Administrative Action
The investigation began after an incident involving the discovery of a severed bovine head near an under-construction house in Raiwala Bazaar. This sparked demands for thorough scrutiny of local religious institutions. The administration is committed to ensuring compliance with legal requirements and maintaining communal harmony.
