In a dramatic turn of events, a helicopter en route to Kedarnath faced a tailspin emergency, while a Louisville cop is under scrutiny in the Scottie Scheffler arrest case. The incident near Kedarnath helipad left passengers safe but shaken, highlighting the risks of travel during the busy Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage season. Meanwhile, a mix of tragic news and controversial decisions make headlines across India and beyond.
Helicopter makes emergency landing near Kedarnath helipad
A helicopter operated by Kestrel Aviation had to make an emergency landing near Kedarnath helipad. Why, you ask? Well, apparently, there was a technical glitch that forced the chopper to land unexpectedly.
The helicopter was on its way from Sirsi helipad to Kedarnath Dham with a total of 6 passengers and a pilot on board. Can you imagine being in that situation? The incident happened around 7:05 in the morning, and there’s even a video circulating showing the helicopter tail-spinning before the emergency landing.
The good news is that despite the scary ordeal, all 6 passengers and the pilot are safe and sound. Phew, what a relief!
The Char Dham Yatra kickstarted on May 10 with the opening of the Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath shrines. For those not familiar, the pilgrimage traditionally starts from Yamunotri and then moves on to Gangotri, Kedarnath, and finally Badrinath.
To manage the influx of pilgrims, the Uttarakhand government has made online registration mandatory for the Chardham Yatra. Safety first, right?
