Uttarakhand celebrates 25th Statehood Anniversary with week-long Festivities

Uttarakhand is set to commemorate its 25th Statehood Anniversary with a grand week-long celebration starting November 6. This significant milestone, known as the “Silver Jubilee,” will kick off with the inauguration of “Devbhoomi Rajatotsav,” a year-long event to honor the state’s heritage and progress.

Special Events and Initiatives

The celebrations will include sports and cultural programs, women empowerment-themed events, and special camps for the underprivileged. Health checkups in slum areas and initiatives for differently-abled individuals will also be organized, alongside tributes to the state’s martyrs and activists.

Uttarakhand Diaspora Conference

On the second day, the Uttarakhand Diaspora Conference will bring together those living outside the state to reconnect with their roots. Various awards and honors will be distributed throughout the week, recognizing contributions in different fields.

This Silver Jubilee marks a significant moment in the history of Uttarakhand, celebrating its achievements and setting the tone for future growth.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi directed organizing programs at the school and college levels to showcase the state’s achievements over the past 24 years and explore future development opportunities, ensuring active participation of youth. She emphasized including all sections of society, especially women, schoolchildren, and youth, in the Devbhoomi Rajatotsav celebrations. Additionally, she instructed officials to make special preparations for grand celebrations at the divisional and district levels to mark the state’s foundation day.
