BJP Postpones Organizational Elections to focus on Urban local body polls

Organizational Elections Delayed

The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to postpone its internal organizational elections, initially scheduled to conclude by November 30. These elections included forming committees at all booth levels. However, due to the upcoming urban local body elections, the party has shifted its focus to this critical electoral process.

Shift in Priorities Post Kedarnath By-election Victory

Following its victory in the Kedarnath by-election, BJP is now prioritizing preparations for the urban local body elections expected to commence next month. Consequently, elections for district and mandal committees have been rescheduled to the second half of January 2024.

Candidate Selection Process Underway

BJP has initiated discussions on potential candidates across SC-ST, OBC, women, and general categories. Meetings with district presidents have already taken place to evaluate potential nominees. Party in-charges have been deployed to gather feedback and refine the list of candidates in various districts.

Conclusion

By focusing on urban local body elections, BJP aims to consolidate its electoral strength. Organizational elections will follow once the municipal poll process concludes. This strategic shift highlights BJP’s emphasis on grassroots-level preparation and comprehensive candidate selection.
