In light of recent road accidents in Marchula and Dehradun, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed officials to draft a comprehensive road safety guideline. A specialized committee comprising experts from transport, police, disaster management, health, and other departments will be formed to prepare the draft.
Focus on Road Safety
The CM emphasized immediate steps to reduce road accidents, urging stricter enforcement of traffic rules, including nighttime patrols, speed checks, and alcohol testing.
Regulation of Alcohol Sales
Addressing concerns over late-night liquor sales, CM Dhami directed strict adherence to closing times and stringent action against violations.
Air Connectivity Expansion
The CM also announced plans for fixed-wing aircraft services between Dehradun, Gauchar, and Chinyalisaur, with tenders and formalities already underway.
This initiative aims to enhance public safety and boost connectivity in the region.
