In a tragic accident near Natraj Chowk, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) leader and statehood activist Trivendra Panwar, along with two others, lost their lives. On Wednesday morning, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Panwar’s residence to express his condolences and support to the grieving family.
An Irreparable Loss
CM Dhami described Panwar’s demise as an “irreparable loss” and reiterated that an investigation into the accident had already been ordered. He also assured that the development of Transport Nagar in Rishikesh is in its final stages, including parking arrangements.
Funeral and Tributes
Panwar’s mortal remains were brought from AIIMS to his residence, where a large number of supporters and locals paid their respects. His funeral was held at Purnanand Ghat, with his son Alok Panwar performing the last rites. UKD leaders, local residents, and dignitaries such as State Women’s Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandwal and former Mayor Anita Mamgai attended the funeral.

Juyal, highlighted Panwar’s unwavering commitment to addressing Uttarakhand’s issues, including fighting corruption, land mafias, and advocating for stronger land and domicile laws. Panwar’s significant contributions to the Uttarakhand statehood movement and ongoing activism will be remembered as a vital part of his enduring legacy.
