In a bold move to root out corruption, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has vowed strict action against those involved in corrupt practices. The Vigilance Department, empowered to take swift action, arrested two officials from Chamoli and Pauri in the last 48 hours for accepting bribes. This brings the total number of arrests in recent months to 32, showcasing the government’s commitment to a corruption-free Uttarakhand.
CM Dhami highlighted the state’s anti-corruption app, “1064,” which was launched to encourage public participation in reporting corrupt activities. The app has received over 980 complaints so far, with 70 officials arrested over the past three years. The initiative has also led to the widespread installation of awareness posters in government offices to promote transparency.
CM Dhami government is determined to eliminate corruption from the roots, holding public servants accountable and ensuring that honest governance prevails in Uttarakhand.
