Governor Leads Constitution Day Observance
The 75th Constitution Day was celebrated at Raj Bhavan under the leadership of Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd). During the event, the Governor administered an oath to officials and employees to uphold the responsibilities and duties outlined in the Indian Constitution. Highlighting its significance, he emphasized that adhering to fundamental duties is the responsibility of every citizen.
Tribute to Constitution Makers
The Governor paid homage to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and other architects of the Indian Constitution, describing it as the soul and source of power for Indian democracy. He acknowledged the historical efforts and profound vision of the Constitution’s framers, which resulted in a robust, welfare-centric document.

Governor Singh called Constitution Day a moment to reflect on the ideals, principles, and duties enshrined in the document. He noted that the Indian Constitution, as the largest written charter globally, acts as a beacon guiding the nation toward a brighter future.
Focus on Fundamental Duties
Referring to Article 51A, the Governor urged citizens to embody the fundamental duties in their actions and preserve the values of the Constitution. He highlighted the importance of keeping the spirit of the Constitution alive by integrating its principles into daily life.
