2nd Phase of Congress’s Kedarnath Prestige Yatra Begins Today, Culmination at Bhairav Temple

The second phase of the Congress Party’s Kedarnath Prestige Yatra is set to begin today, marking a significant spiritual journey that will conclude with a special ceremony at the Bhairav Temple. Initially disrupted due to the recent disaster at Kedarnath Dham, the Congress has now decided to resume the yatra starting Thursday.

The yatra will reach Kedarnath Dham, where party leaders and participants will offer prayers, culminating with a sacred ritual at the Bhairav Temple. On Wednesday, Congress State President Karan Mahara received a grand welcome at Kirtinagar as he made his way toward Rudraprayag. During a meeting with Congress workers, Mahara urged members to participate in large numbers in this phase of the yatra.

Mahara also took the opportunity to criticize the BJP, alleging a conspiracy to shift temples and monasteries elsewhere. He firmly stated that Congress would not tolerate any such actions. The second phase of the yatra will commence after a flag hoisting ceremony by Seva Dal members at Sitapur at 7:30 AM on Thursday. From there, the march will proceed toward Kedarnath.

The yatra is expected to reach Kedarnath Dham by Thursday evening, followed by an overnight stay. On the morning of September 13, the journey will conclude with a “Jalabhishek” (holy water offering) ceremony at Kedarnath. After Kirtinagar, Mahara received another grand reception at Srinagar, further energizing Congress workers ahead of the yatra’s second phase.
