Empowering Young Voters in the District for Lok Sabha Elections

In a bid to educate and empower young voters in the district, a comprehensive campaign has been launched ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Several initiatives have been undertaken to raise awareness and stress the importance of voting among the youth population.

One such initiative is the Bal Vikas project, which has been instrumental in spreading awareness among voters in Panchdevri and Kuchayakot. Through innovative methods such as creating rangolis to engage with voters, the project has successfully conveyed the message of voting as a crucial civic duty.

Additionally, an awareness program was recently organized at Gopeshwar College in Hathua, as per the directives of the District Magistrate. The program, part of the sweep activity, aimed to provide information on voter registration and highlight the significance of participating in the electoral process.

Youth icon brand ambassadors have also been roped in to encourage voter participation. By leveraging their influence and running awareness campaigns, these ambassadors are playing a pivotal role in motivating the younger demographic to exercise their right to vote.

Furthermore, the Sweep program, led by the ELC Club in-charge S.L. Rathi at Government Polytechnic College in Bikaner, has been instrumental in educating participants about EVM machines and the voting process. Key coordinators like Dr. Y.B. Mathur and Gopal Joshi have been actively involved in providing detailed information on sweep activities and emphasizing the use of voting apps for seamless participation.

Under the initiative ‘My First Vote for the Country’s Name’, participants were not only educated on the voting procedures but also encouraged to form a human chain in the shape of a sweep, symbolizing unity in exercising their voting rights. The organization head, K.K. Suthar, reiterated the importance of voting and emphasized the collective responsibility of citizens in shaping the country’s future.

With such concerted efforts and innovative strategies in place, the district is making significant strides in empowering and mobilizing young voters for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The enthusiasm and active participation witnessed during these awareness campaigns signal a positive change towards a more informed and engaged electorate.
