Chandrababu Naidu accuses Jagan Mohan Reddy govt of using Animal Fat in Tirupati Laddu Prasad

In a shocking claim, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has accused the previous Jagan Mohan Reddy government of using animal fat instead of ghee in the preparation of the sacred Tirupati laddu, which is offered as prasadam at the famous Tirumala Temple. Naidu made these allegations during an NDA meeting, where he stated that during the tenure of Jagan Mohan Reddy, the quality of the prasadam had deteriorated due to the use of substandard ingredients.

The iconic Tirupati laddu is one of the most revered prasadams in India, especially among Hindus, and it is prepared using pure ghee. However, Naidu alleged that under the YSRCP government, animal fat was mixed with other ingredients in place of ghee, tarnishing the sanctity of the temple’s offerings. Naidu further emphasized that since his government took charge, only pure ghee has been used, and every aspect of the temple has been sanitized to ensure the quality and purity of the prasad.

In response to these allegations, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders hit back strongly. Senior YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabha MP YV Subba Reddy criticized Naidu for his remarks, accusing him of disrespecting the sanctity of the Tirumala temple and hurting the religious sentiments of millions of Hindus. Subba Reddy called Naidu’s comments “disgraceful” and stated that no one would make such accusations for political gain. He also challenged Naidu to take an oath regarding the purity of the prasad, expressing his willingness to do the same to uphold the temple’s sanctity.
