Tragic news coming in from Madhya Pradesh as a fire broke out in the Mahakal Temple during the Bhasma Aarti on Monday morning. The incident left five priests and four devotees injured. The fire reportedly started after gulal was thrown during the Aarti, causing a cover put up due to Dhulendi celebrations to catch fire.

All the injured individuals have been rushed to the district hospital and fortunately, they are said to be out of danger. The Collector of Ujjain has taken swift action and ordered an investigation into the fire at the Mahakaleshwar Temple. Preliminary investigations will be carried out to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident.
Reports suggest that a total of 14 people, including priests, were injured in the fire, with 9 of them in critical condition being referred to Indore for further medical treatment. There are speculations that the fire could have been triggered by someone throwing chemical-laden gulal during the Bhasma Aarti.
