Ganga Utsav 2024: A Fusion of Culture, Spirituality, and Environmental Commitment at Haridwar’s Namami Gange Ghat.The eighth Ganga Utsav at Haridwar’s Namami Gange Ghat celebrated cultural vibrancy and spiritual devotion, emphasizing Ganga’s preservation. This was the first time the festival took place along the riverbank, drawing crowds to witness the sacred Ganga Aarti and laser light shows. Actor Ashutosh Rana enchanted the audience with a Shiv Stotra, and Rajiv Khandelwal’s theater performance captivated attendees. The event featured local stalls under the “Ghat par Haat” program, showcasing herbal products and organic honey. Union Minister C.R. Patil inaugurated a fish release, promoting ecological balance, while BSF women began a rafting journey from Devprayag to Ganga Sagar, symbolizing Ganga’s purity and flow.

The Director-General of Namami Gange, Rajiv Mittal, highlighted the event’s intent: to promote rivers not just as water sources but as lifelines. This festival, previously held in Delhi, is now also celebrated in five states to strengthen connections between people and river conservation.
