Following several months of eluding the British police.Bhagat Singh and fellow revolutionary and freedom fighter Batukeshwar Dutt made an appearance at the Legislative Assembly. Setting off two explosives that resulted in explosions. But rather of causing harm to anyone, the primary goal of the explosions was to draw the attention of the British Government. They chanted for freedom throughout the gathering, distributed pamphlets with their manifesto, and ultimately handed themselves to authorities.

After being found guilty and executed in March 1931. Bhagat Singh joined the hunger strike campaign started by educationist and freedom fighter Jatin Das. Demanded improved circumstances for Indian prisoners ,while they were incarcerated. Jatin Das died in September 1929 from malnutrition  in jail.

Throughout the last few decades, Singh’s fame has increased. He advocated for struggle, was an atheist, and was a knowledgeable guy. On May 23, we commemorate Singh’s role in the Indian liberation movement by marking it as Martyrdom Day.
