Tragic Plane Crash in South Korea Killing 179 People, 2 Survivors Found….

Horrific Flight Accident in South Korea: South Korea’s worst domestic civil aviation disaster occurred in Jeju Air Flight 2216, a Boeing 737-800, after crash land at Muan Interntional Airport on December 29, 2024. There were around 181 people onboard including staff. 179 people have been found dead with only 2 survivors.

2 Survivors Found

In recent months, several accidents have resulted in questioning the importance of strict, verified safety measures and improvements in aviation technology. One such horrific incident occurred on 29 December, 2024. This is South Korea’s one of the worst domestic civil aviation disasters in years when Jeju Air Flight 2216, a Boeing 737-800 crash landed at Muan International Airport. The Flight was arriving From Bangkok, Thailand and had 181 people onboard, including 175 passengers and 6 crew members. The crash occurred at around 9:03 am local time.

‘Bird Strike Alert’ by Pilot

According to the reports, eyewitnesses had seen the plane struggle to land with smoke trailing from the engines. The pilot had declared a ‘Mayday’ after issuing a “Bird Strike” alert, indicating that a bird had collided with the aircraft. The crash occurred when the plane’s front landing gear failed to open up, forcing the pilot to make a belly landing. Footage from the airport showed the aircraft skidding across the runway before colliding with a wall and bursting into flames. Only 2 flight attendants were found alive, who were sent to the local hospital for treatment. Jeju Air has issued an apology and pledged full efforts to address the tragedy.
