During the holy month of Ramzan, Swiggy delivered a whopping 6 million plates of Biryani, which is a 15% increase compared to regular months. Hyderabad stole the show by ordering over 1 million plates of Biryani and 5.3 lakh plates of Haleem during this period.
It seems like people stuck to their traditional favorites for Iftar as Biryani, Haleem, and Samosa were the popular choices. Swiggy also noted a significant 34% increase in Iftar orders between 5:30 to 7 pm during Ramzan.
When it came to the top items ordered nationally for Iftar, Chicken Biryani, Mutton Haleem, Samosa, Falooda, and Kheer were the crowd favorites. Interestingly, there was a whopping 1454.88% increase in orders for Haleem during Ramzan, showing just how much people love this dish during the holy month.
