Ind vs Aus Test: Ravindra Jadeja’s ‘Only Hindi’ Interview Sparks Controversy Between Indian and Australian Media

Ind vs Aus Test Controversy: The ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy drama has roped in Ravindra Jadeja after Virat Kohli. The tensions have escalated, involving both Indian and Australian media.

Jadeja’s Press Conference Controversy

Australian journalists alleged that Jadeja ignored their questions in English and avoided engaging with them during the press conference. However, Indian media and the team’s management denied this, citing that the press conference was rushed as the team bus was running late to leave the stadium.

Indian Media’s Response

Indian media claimed that the Press Conference was primarily meant for Indian journalists with questions posed in Hindi, to which Jadeja responded accordingly. They dismissed claims of him refusing to speak in English. The interview was kept by BCCI for only the travelling media but later, the Australian local media also attended the interview. When only India Media got the answers that too in Hindi the local reporters became furious and lost their cool at the BCCI media manager.

Match Boycott Decision

The dispute led to the cancellation of the friendly T20 match. Australian cricket couldn’t proceed with the event due to insufficient participants after the Indian media and team representatives withdrew.
