India- Canada Diplomatic Uproar: An uproar has escalated between India and Canada as PM Narendra Modi strongly condemns the violence at the Hindu Sabha Temple at Brampton near Toronto.

Anti India protest Raise Deep Concern

The Anti– India protest and violence around the Hindu temple premises raised deep concern by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the safety and security of Indian Nationals living in Canada. PM Narendra Modi asked Canadian Government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law against the deliberate attack on Hindu temple.

PM Modi’s first statement on India– Canada Uproar

An incident occurred in Brampton where protestors carrying Khalistani flags clash with people at the Hindu Sabha Temple on Sunday and disrupted the event coorganized by the temple authorities and the Indian Consulate.
In a post on X PM Modi said, “I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate are diplomats such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve”. Later adding, “We expect the Canadian government to ensured justice and uphold the rule of law.”

Apart from this in a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said that it expects those indulging in violence will be prosecuted and called on the Government of Canada to ensure that all places of worship are protected from such attacks.
Political parties and religious organisations in India also demanded that the Canadian government must take steps to ensure such incidents would not be repeated.
