As the political climate intensifies for the Delhi Assembly Election 2025, AAP leader and former CM Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing them of lacking a chief ministerial face and failing to deliver on promises to the city’s poor.
BJP Lacks CM Face for Delhi, Says Kejriwal
Kejriwal alleged that the BJP has no credible leader for Delhi’s CM post. He criticized the central government, particularly Home Minister Amit Shah, for neglecting Delhi’s law and order issues.
PM Modi’s Promises for Housing Unfulfilled
Referring to the BJP’s 2020 manifesto, Kejriwal accused PM Modi of failing to fulfill his promise of providing permanent housing for Delhi’s slum dwellers by 2022. He revealed that only 4,700 houses have been constructed in five years, while over 4 lakh slum households remain in need of housing.
BJP Accused of Demolishing Slums
Highlighting the plight of Delhi’s poor, Kejriwal alleged that 2.78 lakh people were rendered homeless due to slum demolitions carried out by the BJP in the past five years. He called the BJP “enemies of the poor” for their contradictory actions—visiting slums for photo-ops, only to later demolish them.
AAP’s Record in Governance
Kejriwal contrasted AAP’s governance with the BJP’s alleged failures, asserting that AAP delivered numerous welfare projects in the past decade, unlike the BJP’s “empty promises.”
Conclusion
As Delhi approaches the 2025 elections, the war of words between AAP and BJP intensifies. While BJP accuses AAP of inefficiency, Kejriwal paints BJP as indifferent to Delhi’s challenges. This political battle sets the stage for a heated electoral contest.
