The Uttarakhand government has reaffirmed that the 38th National Games will be held on the originally scheduled dates, from January 28 to February 14, 2025, despite a recent proposal from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) suggesting new dates from February 15 to March 2. In a decisive move, Sports Minister Rekha Arya directed Sports Director Prashant Arya to email IOA, emphasizing the state’s preparedness.
High-Level Discussions Ensure Clarity
Amit Sinha, Special Principal Secretary for Sports, met IOA Chairperson P.T. Usha in New Delhi to assert the state’s commitment to the scheduled dates. Additionally, a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami confirmed the government’s stance, ensuring smooth execution of the prestigious event.
Awaiting IOA’s Response
Uttarakhand Olympic Association General Secretary D.K. Singh mentioned that IOA’s response is expected by Saturday, likely resolving any lingering doubts.
The state’s confidence underscores its readiness to host a grand and well-organized National Games.
