Rekha Gupta Sworn in as Delhi’s Chief Minister
Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi at Ramlila Maidan on February 20, 2025, becoming the fourth woman to hold the position. Portfolio Allocations
Rekha Gupta retained the finance portfolio for herself and allocated other key departments among her ministers. Parvesh Verma was given charge of PWD, water, irrigation, and flood control, while Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh were also sworn in as ministers.
Focus on Women’s Empowerment and Development
One of the significant announcements made by Rekha Gupta was the immediate implementation of the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, promising ₹2,500 monthly aid to eligible women, with the first installment to be credited by March 8. Gupta emphasized the need to address Delhi’s infrastructure issues, particularly the poor condition of roads.
