Uttarakhand and ADB sign Agreement for ₹2,447 Crore Development Projects

Uttarakhand and ADB:The government of Uttarakhand, in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), signed an agreement in Delhi to fund various urban development projects totaling ₹2,447 crore. The initiative, aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure across Uttarakhand, will include clean drinking water, sanitation, and mobility improvements for over 36,000 households.

Key Project Highlights:

  • Kotdwar Drinking Water Project: ₹373 crore for 330 km water pipelines and 22,196 new connections.
  • Champawat Water Supply Scheme: ₹240 crore to lay 160 km of pipelines, adding 4,523 household connections.
  • Kichha Water Supply: ₹463.24 crore for a 402 km pipeline network and 20,000 connections.

Infrastructure in Haldwani

In Haldwani, the project will include ₹400 crore for an Information Technology Management System and a Comprehensive Urban Mobility Plan worth ₹268 crore, along with the construction of Namo Bhawan for consolidating government offices under one roof.

These projects mark a critical step in Uttarakhand’s efforts to advance sustainable urban infrastructure, improving quality of life and resource management.
