‘The Sabarmati Report’ is a Hindi film that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will see on Monday in the Library of the Parliament Complex in New Delhi.
Based on the February 27, 2002, Godhra train fire tragedy, the movie stars Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra, and Raashii Khanna. In Gujarat, the 59-person incident led to sectarian rioting that killed over 1,000 people, the majority of whom were Muslims. At the time, PM Modi served as the state’s chief minister.
Alongside Mr. Modi, Mr. Massey and the movie’s producer, Ekta Kapoor, will be watching the film at the Balyogi auditorium.
Prime Minister Modi had stated that a false narrative can only exist for a short time before the realities are revealed, following the film’s release last month.
The video “defies the ecosystem with unparalleled courage and exposes the truth behind the fateful episode to broad daylight,” according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who also stated that truth cannot be “hidden in darkness forever.”
