This year, the colorful festival of Holi will be celebrated across the country on Wednesday, 4th March 2026. Holika Dahan was observed on 2nd March, and due to the lunar eclipse on 3rd March, the main festival of colors will be celebrated a day later on 4th March. Holi symbolizes the victory of good over evil. Holika Dahan, marking the beginning of the celebrations, was observed on March 2, while this year’s main color festivities were postponed to March 4 due to a lunar eclipse on March 3.

On Holi, people across the country will smear each other with gulal and colors, dance to the beats of drums, and enjoy traditional delicacies like gujiya, malpua, and thandai.

In Mathura and Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, the festival is celebrated with grand events attracting devotees from across India and abroad. Similarly, at the Gopinath Temple in Gopeshwar, Uttarakhand, devotees from distant places gather to join in the festivities.
