Over one lakh devotees have flocked to Baba Dham in Devghar for the grand Tilak Ceremony on Basant Panchami. The ceremony, performed at Baba Baidyanath Temple, marks the beginning of the festival with the application of gulal by devotees from Mithila. As the event unfolds, Tilak puja and shringar puja will take place at Laxmi Narayan Temple. With only 40% of the devotees arrived so far, the anticipation is palpable as they eagerly await the auspicious Basant Panchami. Measures have been taken by authorities to manage traffic, including banning heavy vehicles and implementing diversion routes to ensure a smooth flow during the fair.
The Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar is buzzing with excitement as devotees gather to celebrate Basant Panchami. The tilak ceremony, a traditional ritual, was performed at the temple, marking the beginning of the festivities. Devotees from Mithila were seen applying gulal (colored powder) on each other after the puja, adding to the festive atmosphere.
It seems that the word has spread far and wide, as over one lakh devotees have already arrived at Babadham to participate in the tilak festival. This is only the beginning, and more devotees are expected to join in the coming days. The Laxmi Narayan Temple will also be hosting tilak puja and shringar puja in the evening, making it a day filled with devotion and celebration.
It’s not just the locals who have gathered for this auspicious occasion. Devotees from Mithila and various areas have made their way to the Baba Temple to seek blessings. However, it is reported that only 40% of the expected devotees have reached Babadham so far, indicating that there will be more people pouring in as the days go by.
To accommodate the large influx of devotees, arrangements have been made for them to stay at open spaces near their resting places. They eagerly await the arrival of Basant Panchami, spending their time in worship, prayers, and offering ghee to Baba. The day will culminate with a collective feast and devotional songs, adding to the festive fervor.
To ensure the smooth flow of traffic and manage the influx of vehicles, the authorities have taken several measures. Heavy vehicles are banned from entering Devghar city between 8 am and 12 pm for three days during the fair. This decision was made by SDPO Deepankar Choudhary under the direction of DC Vishal Sagar, to ease congestion and ensure the safety of devotees.
To divert traffic and avoid any traffic jams, route diversions have been implemented. A total of 21 no-entry zones have been created in the city to manage the flow of vehicles. Different diversion routes have been set up for vehicles coming from Dumka, Giridih, Rohini/Devi Pur, Chakai/Jamui, Chapra Mod, and Sarwan/Sarth. This will help vehicles reach their destinations smoothly and efficiently.
These measures have been put in place to ensure that the Basant Panchami fair in Devghar goes off without a hitch. The authorities have taken the necessary steps to manage the traffic flow and prevent any inconvenience to the devotees. With the tilak ceremony already underway and more devotees expected to arrive, it is bound to be a grand celebration filled with devotion and joy.
