Assam and Arunachal Pradesh Devastated With Flood: Heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh has triggered devastating floods and landslides, causing extensive damage to life and property across the North Eastern state. The situation continues to worsen, with 11 lives lost so far, including a labourer who died in a wall collapse in Anjaw district.
Widespread Damage to Agriculture and Infrastructure
According to the State Emergency Operation Centre, relentless rains have damaged:
- 15 hectares of crop fields
- 8 hectares of horticulture plantations
- 7 hectares of agricultural land

The Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Balinong, under Kharsang circle, has been badly hit. The hostels, staff quarters, water tanks, and other essential infrastructure have been completely destroyed, affecting the education and safety of students and staff.
People and Tourist Sites Affected
So far, 938 people in 156 villages across 23 districts have been affected. Many have been left stranded, prompting the Indian Air Force (IAF) to step in for rescue operations.

Popular tourist spots, such as Zupra and River Café along the Noa-Dehing River, have been submerged, impacting the local tourism industry.
Government Response
Relief and rescue operations are underway with coordination between local administration, disaster response teams, and the IAF. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as more rain is expected in the coming days.
The state government has urged citizens to stay alert, avoid landslide-prone areas, and follow safety advisories.
