Over 10,000 Children in Wokha and Leh to Receive Immunizations in March

More than 10,000 children in Wokha and Leh are set to receive crucial immunizations in March, as part of the National Immunization Day campaign. With a focus on reaching children aged 0-5, various activities such as house-to-house visits and vaccination booths will be organized to ensure comprehensive coverage. Local authorities are emphasizing the importance of mobilizing communities and raising awareness about the significance of immunization.

Wokha and Nubra Districts Gear Up for National Immunization Day

Hey there, readers! Today we have some important news to share about the upcoming National Immunization Day in Wokha and Nubra districts of India.

In Wokha, the District Task Force and Urban Task Force recently came together for a consultative meeting to discuss the immunization drive scheduled from March 3rd to 5th, 2024. During this program, oral polio drops will be given to children aged 0-5 at various booth locations, with house-to-house activities planned for the 4th and 5th of March. A total of 10,890 beneficiaries from 20,393 households are set to be vaccinated, with 193 vaccination booths spread across the district.

SDO (C) Wokha, Nuhuta Tunyi, stressed the importance of mobilizing and raising awareness about immunization during the meeting. Colony council chairmen were also urged to play their part in informing and mobilizing residents to ensure that all children in the 0-5 age group are vaccinated during the campaign.

Moving on to Nubra, a meeting was chaired by SDM Nubra at the SDM Office in Diskit on February 27 to discuss the Pulse Polio Immunization 2024 campaign. The Block Force Committee for IPPI deliberated on the activities planned for March 3, which include house-to-house visits and pulse polio vaccination drives on March 4-5.

On the vaccination day, March 3, the pulse polio shots will be administered at the Medical Centre in every village. For villages without a Medical Centre, the vaccination will take place at the Government School or Community Hall. Close coordination among departments is being emphasized to ensure that every child under 5 in Nubra receives the necessary vaccination.

The meeting in Nubra was attended by representatives from the Sub District Hospital Diskit, Zonal District Planning Office Diskit, and Incharge CDPO Sonam Tsephel, highlighting the collaborative effort being put into ensuring a successful immunization campaign.
