In a remarkable display of environmental commitment and teamwork, the 128 Infantry Battalion and Ecological Task Force have set a new milestone by planting over 5 lakh saplings in just one hour in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Union Minister Bhupender Yadav extended his congratulations to the dedicated individuals behind this extraordinary feat.

This record-breaking initiative was part of the Prime Minister’s campaign “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam,” which focuses on ecological restoration and spreading environmental awareness within local communities. The efforts involved not only the 128 Infantry Battalion (ETF) of the Territorial Army but also the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Border Security Force, Police, and enthusiastic students from various educational institutions.

The tree-planting campaign in Jaisalmer has not only made a significant impact on the environment but has also earned a well-deserved spot in the prestigious World Book of Records. A total of 519,310 saplings were planted across seven strategic locations, with the Military Station area and New Link Road Ranisar serving as focal points for the green initiative.

Acknowledging this outstanding achievement, World Book of Records London has issued a provisional certificate to recognize the remarkable efforts put forth by all those involved. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma lauded the initiative as a crucial step towards spearheading a Green Revolution in Jaisalmer, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices for a healthier environment.

Inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s vision of dedicating trees to mothers through the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, various organizations joined forces to make a significant impact by planting over 5 lakh saplings in just one hour. The certificate of this record-breaking achievement was personally presented to Major General H S Bajaj of the Battle Axe Division by Santosh Shukla, the country head of World Book Records, UK.
