President Yoon Suk Yeol Arrested: South Korea’s impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol was arrested today morning over Martial law decision.

Historic Moment for the Country

On January 15, 2025 morning the impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was arrested over his Martial law bid which made it a historic moment. The convoy was seen leaving his fortified residence for questioning by the Anti corruption officials.
According to the resources, authorities served the warrant after hours long stand off with a security, staff and supporters. The investigators were seen using ladders and wire cutters to enter Yoon’s residence.

First Korean President to be Arrested

Yoon is now at the Corruption Investigation Office (CIO) and he said that he agreed to the interrogation “even though it is an illegal investigation in order to prevent any unsavoury bloodshed.”
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has become the country’s first sitting President to be arrested. Yoon can be held for 48 hours but maybe released unless investigators obtained a fresh detention warrant to detain him for 20 days, mean while, he will stay the night in Seoul Detention Centre.
