PM Modi Strikes Back With 5 Big Decisions After Pahalgam Attack….

India Retaliates Pakistan By Taking Big Decisions: Following the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, the Indian government, under the guidance of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), has implemented a series of decisive measures aimed at holding Pakistan accountable for its alleged involvement in cross-border terrorism.

5 Big Decisions have been taken by the Indian Government in retaliation to Pakistan :

Closure of the Wagah-Attari Border

In a significant move, India has announced the immediate closure of the Wagah-Attari border, the sole land crossing between India and Pakistan. This decision halts all passenger and trade movements through the Integrated Check Post at Attari, effective from April 23, 2025. Indian nationals who have crossed into Pakistan with valid endorsements are permitted to return through this route before May 1, 2025.

Expulsion of Pakistani Diplomats and Closure of High Commissions

India has declared all Pakistani defense, military, naval and air advisors at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi as persona non grata, granting them one week to depart the country. Simultaneously, India will withdraw its own military advisors from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. Furthermore, the overall staff strength of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad is set to be reduced from 55 to 30 by May 1, 2025.

Suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty

In a historic move, India has suspended the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, citing Islamabad’s support for cross-border terrorism. The treaty, which governs the sharing of water from the Indus River and its tributaries, has been held in abeyance until Pakistan “credibly and irrevocably” ceases its support for terrorism. This suspension underscores India’s commitment to safeguarding its national interests in the face of external threats.

Reduction of Diplomatic Staff

The Indian government has decided to reduce the diplomatic staff at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, aiming to bring the total number of personnel down to 30 by May 1, 2025. This move is part of India’s efforts to recalibrate its diplomatic presence in Pakistan in response to the recent events.

Revocation of Pakistani Nationals’ Visas

India has mandated that all Pakistani nationals holding visas under the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) must leave the country within 48 hours. Additionally, any previously issued SVES visas to Pakistani citizens are now deemed cancelled. This measure is part of India’s broader strategy to tighten security and limit cross-border movements.
